THE MAN BEHIND THE SHOW
Before stepping onto the stage, Turan Ali spent over 25 years producing and directing BBC comedy and drama, working with some of Britain's best-known comedy performers. He also gave Eddie Izzard a first BBC radio contract before turning to stand-up himself.
Since then, Turan has toured globally with his own queer but straight-friendly comedy. He's performed in countries including Austria, The Netherlands, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Hungary, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Spain, England and of course, Scotland. He has monthly sell-out shows in the grand Volkstheater in Vienna, and bi-monthly across Scotland.
His solo shows blend stand-up, storytelling, original songs (with a very butch ukulele) and outrageous characters, into comedy that is intelligent, unpredictable, challenging and gloriously silly.
